Christopher Pike
his former captain
The
relationship between Christopher Pike and Spock is mostly seen in the Alternate
reality, because there is no much information of them interacting. Spock served
in the Original Series for ten years under Pike as his science officer and later
on when Pike suffered major radiation to save some cadets, Spock managed with
unorthodox methods to help him live out his life on Talos IV on his wheelchair
that was self-propelled and had life-support.
There is more to the relationship when we look at the Alternate reality, simply
because Pike is the captain of Enterprise and Spock is his first officer, which
is the difference, because in TOS there was a woman who Pike normally called
Number One. Their relationship seems of well acquainted colleagues, but at the
same time they seem to be on some level of friendship, especially when Spock
tries to tell his captain that he doesn’t like the joke of making Kirk
the first officer to the acting captain Spock. But both show that they trust
each other and respect each other.
